J.D. Williams is the Business Analytics Leader at Dow AgroSciences, where he leads a team of statisticians, mathematicians, computer scientists, and operations researchers.  The Business Analytics team partners with the business functions to solve business problems and drive better data-driven decision making.  He received a BA in Mathematics Education and MS in Statistics from Brigham Young University, and a Ph.D. in Statistics from Virginia Tech.  During his graduate studies, he completed a 7-month internship with DuPont where he developed algorithms and solutions to better streamline the DuPont Paint and Crop Protection businesses.  After completing the Ph.D., he joined GE Global Research as Statistical Leader, where he supported many GE businesses, such as GE Capital, GE Aircraft Engines, and NBC Universal to solve business problems using statistical methods.  Later, he joined JP Morgan Chase as Senior Analytics Manager, where he built predictive models and lead an analytics team to quantify the effectiveness of marketing programs. 

On a personal note, J.D. enjoys spending time with his wife and 5 children, being in the outdoors, and competing in Ironman triathlons (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run).
